10
Ways To Help Your Child
with Homework
1.
Your child will
be given a "Homework Bingo" sheet at the beginning
of every week. The worksheet will be stapled to the
conduct folder. I will check the "Homework
Bingo" every
morning. Please sign the sheet every night as your
student finishes each assignment.
2.
Create a planning calendar
to help with long-term projects, so work isn't done at the last minute.
3.
Talk about up coming assignments and make up a plan to get it done
on time. Tackle the most
difficult tasks first. Write down the plan and the order he/she will do
assignments in.

4.
Teach him/her to review what was taught during
the school day. Studying math facts or spelling
words are examples.
5. When he/she gets his/her
"Homework Bingo" at
school, help show him/her how to use it to track homework, organize school work due,
and assignments returned.

6.
Make sure your child has his/her book bag for transporting books and
assignments. It's needed everyday to safely carry books and other needed
supplies. Make sure the book bag is packed the night
before school so that your student has everything
he/she needs.
7.
Make a schedule with
your student for a regular time to do homework.
8.
He/she should keep old papers and tests in a folder or
binder to prepare for future tests.

9.
Lessen distractions during
homework time; phone calls, television, video games,
radio, and younger siblings are some examples.
10.
Designate a special place homework.
