Apply For Our Website Award!

My last year in
college,
I was president of the honor society for teachers, Kappa Delta Pi. The
members of the group decided they wanted to build a website and as the
president I was asked to try to do it. I didn't know the first thing
about
websites. I wasn't technology ignorant, but this task scared me to
death. I
was stubborn and refused to admit that I didn't know what I was doing.
With
a great deal of persistence, I taught myself html coding and the ends
and
outs of website building. It took me a little while to learn how to put
things together, but once I figured things out I feel in love with web
design. While still in college, I built my class website and has
continued
to add to it ever since.
It takes a great deal of dedication for teachers to build and maintain
sites for
their students. I admire these professionals and would like to honor
their
achievements for themselves and their classes. It is exactly for that
reason I
created this website award. It is specifically for classroom websites
that meet
the following criteria:
1. Your site must be created, designed and maintained by you the
classroom
teacher.
2.
Your site must be
updated
regularly, creative and eye-appealing.
3.
Your site
should be informative for parents, students, and a good example for
other
teachers.
4.
Your site
should be user friendly and easy to navigate.
5.
Your site
should provide meaningful educational content and not just links to
other sites.
6.
Your site must not have any
broken
links, or any pages under construction.
7. Your site should
give
credit for graphics either on a graphic page or individually on each
page.
